Moms Who Blog : Sakshi Mishra
Hello and welcome to Mom Blogger October on the Times of Amma. As regular readers know, the Times Of Amma community is all about inspiring Moms and building them up as they work on being themselves and Mothers. And so, this month is dedicated to featuring Moms who are working on being themselves and mothers, while expressing themselves through their blogs Today we meet Sakshi Mishra, who is a management graduate, who worked for a leading stationery company for almost 2 years. She later left to settle down with her husband post marriage. Having relocated to a remotion region with no employment opportunities matching her profile, she took up teaching chemistry to High school students and realised that her true passion was imparting meaningful education for students in rural areas of India. She took up blogging after her son's birth to keep herself constructive and to refrain from indulging in undue comparisons with her batchmates and colleagues.

What was it that prompted you to become a blogger? The idea to use my maternity and career break Constructively , share my passion for fashion and beauty with others and to keep myself upbridged with latest developments. Which has been your most memorable post to date and why? I love "Whats in my Bag" series videos on You tube.Taking that craze forward, I too started the same series on my Instagram post,it was then when India's leading beauty and lifestyle vlogger, Ms.Bhumika Thakkar appreciated my work, twice in a row.
What has the most memorable comment on your blog been so far? "That I am honest towards my work" from a fellow blogger which means a lot for a novice blogger like me because everyone can appreciate good things but to stand out and speak the truth, without thinking about future collaborations takes lot of courage.staying true to any form I work,I indulge into is my motto.
Have you ever started to write a post and then abandoned it? Why? Mostly because I think ,am not creative enough or am not bringing anything new to the table and rarely because my son starts crying. Also at times when I feel I am getting repetitive. Do you stick to a regular posting schedule or do you post whenever inspiration strikes? Do you have a writing routine? Blogging is like a hobby for me,a kind of meditation therefore, I write when I am prompted to and not to meet the deadlines. Do you find it hard to get your voice heard in the crowded blogosphere? Yes, at times being a newbie. But I have observed that once people get to read my blog, they tend to like it. I think I should often promote my blogs/work so that people know what I have written and to get heard. Many say that blogging is dead thanks to other micro-blogging avenues like Instagram,Twitter and others. As the owner of a traditional blog, how would you respond to that? I don't think so, microblogging is growing at its own pace but we still like to read a full article on our desired topics rather than just a small post. The virtual world is vast enough to make space for any form of good work. Having said that I still believe that the charm of a traditional blog can never go away, at least not for a person like me who hails from an old school of thought. Do you see your blog as a stepping stone to something else? Do you see yourself wearing the tag of 'blogger' five years down the line? Pretty much. Blogging is my hobby rather than my profession and I started it to keep myself positive so I will be a blogger always. You can follow Sakshi's blog here:
